About
Meet your coach
Why we started LA Gym Tours
We started LA Gym Tours because we kept meeting the same kind of traveler: a lifter who flies into Los Angeles with one item at the top of their list, training where the legends trained. They had watched Pumping Iron, they knew the names Arnold Schwarzenegger and Franco Columbu, and they wanted to stand on the same stretch of Venice coastline. But they did not want to battle Venice parking, guess at day-pass rules, or wander the Boardwalk without knowing what they were looking at.
So we built the day we would want ourselves: train first, then explore, then eat well, with someone who knows the story guiding the way.
Our mission
Our mission is simple: help lifters experience the history of Southern California fitness by living it, not just reading about it. That means:
- Real training at the places that matter, coached and scaled to every level
- Honest, accurate history, without myths or exaggeration
- Small groups and a relaxed pace, so everyone gets attention
- Logistics handled for you, from the van to lunch
What your coach brings
Your coach is a working Los Angeles strength coach, someone who trains people for a living, not a tour guide reading from a script. On tour day, that means:
- A coached training session built for a mixed group, with every movement adjusted to your experience, goals, and how you feel after a long flight
- Real-world coaching cues you can take home to your own training
- Local knowledge of Venice and Santa Monica, from the best photo spots to the quietest corners of the Boardwalk
- The stories behind the landmarks, from the acrobats of the original Muscle Beach to the Golden Era champions of the 1970s
Whether you have been lifting for decades or you started this year, your coach's job is to make sure you leave stronger, better informed, and with a day you will talk about for years.
Independent and proud of it
LA Gym Tours is an independent company. We are not affiliated with any gym or venue we visit. We just love this history and want to share it with people who love training as much as we do.
